Terms & Conditions
1. Promoter
The Coatesville School Ag Day Raffle is conducted by Coatesville School Parents and Friends Association, C/- Coatesville School, Mahoenui Valley Road, Coatesville, Auckland ("the Promoter" or "Society").
The raffle is conducted under a Class 3 gambling licence issued under the Gambling Act 2003.
2. Purpose of the Raffle
The raffle is being conducted to raise funds for the benefit of Coatesville School and its students.
All net proceeds from the raffle will be applied to the authorised purpose specified in the Society's Class 3 gambling licence.
3. Eligibility
The raffle is open to persons of all ages, subject to the Gambling Act 2003, the Lottery Game Rules and the conditions of the Society's Class 3 gambling licence.
There is no general minimum age requirement for participation in this raffle.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the identity of a prize winner before awarding a prize.
4. Purchase of Tickets
Raffle tickets may only be purchased through authorised Coatesville School Parents and Friends Association fundraising channels.
The raffle is not an online lottery. Publication of the raffle information and these Terms and Conditions online does not constitute online ticket sales.
Tickets must not be purchased through the website, social media or any other unauthorised online channel.
Each ticket represents one entry into the raffle.
5. Tickets

Each ticket will have a unique ticket number.

Each valid ticket has an equal chance of being drawn.

A ticket is the only valid basis for participating in the raffle.

Tickets cannot be transferred to another lottery or combined with another lottery.

Tickets cannot be exchanged for cash.

The Promoter is not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen, damaged, destroyed or rendered illegible.

The Promoter may refuse to recognise a ticket where its authenticity or validity cannot reasonably be established.

The Promoter will not issue additional tickets beyond the number authorised for the raffle.
6. Ticket Price and Number of Tickets
The ticket price and total number of tickets available will be stated on the raffle ticket and associated promotional material.

7. Draw Date and Location
The raffle will be drawn on:
Saturday 17 October 2026 at approximately: 2:00pm
at: Coatesville School Ag Day Assembly (outside the school office)
Coatesville School
Mahoenui Valley Road
Coatesville, Auckland
The draw will be conducted on the date authorised under the Society's Class 3 gambling licence.
8. Conduct of the Draw
The draw will be conducted fairly and at random.
Winning tickets will be drawn from all eligible tickets received by the closing time for ticket sales.
The draw will be open to the public and will be supervised in accordance with the requirements of the Gambling Act 2003 and the Lottery Game Rules.
The Promoter will take reasonable steps to ensure that the draw is conducted independently and transparently.
9. Prizes
The prizes available in the raffle are those advertised by the Promoter.
Details of the prizes, including their retail value and any material conditions applying to them, will be made available as part of the raffle promotion.
Where a prize is supplied by a third-party business or organisation, the prize is subject to any reasonable terms and conditions imposed by that prize provider.
Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash unless specifically stated otherwise.
10. Prize Substitution
The Promoter will endeavour to provide the advertised prizes.
If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter's reasonable control, the Promoter will deal with the situation in accordance with the Gambling Act 2003, the Lottery Game Rules and any applicable licence conditions or directions from the Department of Internal Affairs.
The Promoter will not make a material change to the advertised prizes after ticket sales have commenced unless permitted or required under the applicable gambling rules.
11. Winners
Winning tickets will be announced at the Coatesville School Ag Day assembly at approximately 2:00pm on Saturday 17 October 2026, where possible.
Winners do not need to be present at the draw to win.
If a winner is not present, the Promoter will contact the winner using the contact details supplied when the ticket was purchased.
The Promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact each winner.
A winner may be required to provide reasonable proof of identity and/or evidence that they hold the winning ticket before the prize is released.
12. Unclaimed Prizes
The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact any winner who is not present at the draw.
Unclaimed prizes will be dealt with in accordance with the Gambling Act 2003, the Lottery Game Rules and the conditions of the Society's Class 3 gambling licence.
Where required or permitted, the Promoter may seek approval or direction from the Department of Internal Affairs regarding an unclaimed prize.
13. Publication of Results
The raffle results will be publicly notified in accordance with the requirements of the Gambling Act 2003 and the Lottery Game Rules.
Winner information may be published on the Coatesville School website and in the Coatesville Chronicle and/or other appropriate publication or communication channel required to satisfy the applicable rules.
The Promoter may publish the winner's name and the prize won.
The Promoter will not publish unnecessary personal information such as a winner's telephone number, email address or residential address.
14. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with the raffle will be used for purposes reasonably necessary to administer the raffle, including:

processing and validating raffle entries;
-
contacting winners;
-
arranging prize collection or redemption;
-
maintaining records required under the Gambling Act 2003 and Lottery Game Rules; and
-
publishing or notifying raffle results where required.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand privacy law.
15. Cancellation or Changes
If the raffle needs to be cancelled, postponed or otherwise changed due to circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control, the Promoter will act in accordance with the Gambling Act 2003, the Lottery Game Rules and the conditions of the Class 3 gambling licence.
The Promoter will communicate any material change to the raffle through an appropriate Coatesville School communication channel.
16. Invalid or Disqualified Entries
The Promoter reserves the right to declare an entry invalid where it reasonably believes that:

the ticket is counterfeit, altered or fraudulent;

the ticket was not legitimately issued;
-
the ticket cannot be verified;
-
the entrant has breached these Terms and Conditions;
-
the entry does not comply with the Gambling Act 2003, Lottery Game Rules or Class 3 licence conditions; or
-
the entry was obtained through fraudulent or improper means.
17. Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited under New Zealand law.
Subject to those rights and protections, the Promoter accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or disappointment arising from participation in the raffle or from the acceptance, use or redemption of a prize.
The Promoter is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party prize providers.
18. Third-Party Prizes
Where a prize is donated or supplied by a third party, that third party is responsible for providing the prize in accordance with the conditions advertised for that prize.
The Promoter is not responsible for changes to a third-party business, service, event or experience that occur after the prize has been awarded.
19. Compliance with New Zealand Gambling Law
The raffle will be conducted in accordance with the Gambling Act 2003, the Lottery Game Rules, the conditions of the Society's Class 3 gambling licence and any applicable directions issued by the Department of Internal Affairs.
Where there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and applicable New Zealand gambling law or the conditions of the Class 3 licence, the Gambling Act 2003, Lottery Game Rules and licence conditions will prevail.
20. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
